"The Basics" - Unlawful Detainer Law, Settlement Tips and Tactics, and Special Problems

(2.75 MCLE credits)

This class will provide an overview of the most recent developments in eviction law, including tenant defenses, procedural rules, and pleadings.  The class will also highlight settlement negotiations tips, such as assessing settlement options, types of settlement agreements, and negotiating tactics.  Finally, the class will focus on some more advanced issues in unlawful detainer, such as mortgages and foreclosure evictions, bankruptcy, public and subsidized housing, and fair housing issues.
