Following her divorce, “Elizabeth” came to the Pro Bono Project for help enforcing the joint custody and visitation arrangements for her 10-year-old son, when her ex-husband sought to change the terms of their agreement. "I cannot imagine a situation where it is more important for both sides to be represented than one like this. [We] got an agreement that really will help improve things for all involved, particularly the children." |

The Pro Bono Project's Guardianship Project is part of a collaboration, Guardianship Access Partnership (“GAP”). We provide comprehensive legal services to parties in guardianship cases, whether the parties are proposed guardians, parents or other interested parties. PBP serves both as an entry point to the project and as a referral where the other agencies in the project can refer parties for help. Legal representation is provided by volunteer attorneys who, if taking a case outside of their usual area of practice, are provided mentorship from mentor attorneys experienced in guardianships.
