While public funding of legal services is decreasing, the need for legal services in our community is increasing — a real challenge for the Pro Bono Project. To meet this challenge, we are trying to engage more Silicon Valley law firms in supporting our work. Because most of our volunteer attorneys are sole practitioners, we are seeking more financial and in-kind support from the larger firms in our community. You and your firm can help:
"As a volunteer with the Project, I see how efficiently and effectively this staff works to serve literally thousands of clients each year."
Nisreen Baroudi, Esq.
Who supports the Pro Bono Project?
We receive financial contributions from generous individuals and organizations.
About 70% of the Project's operating income comes from public sources, 25% from foundation grants, and about 5% from private donations.
How do we use your donations?
Every penny is used to support the volunteers who help our clients. There are no fancy offices or staff perks here!
Here are some examples of what your donation can do:
$75 supports five hours of volunteer attorney time. $150 provides two Lawyers in the Library
sessions. $250 provides 20 hours of free legal services to low-income clients.
Because we are a fully qualified 501(c)(3) organization, your donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law and IRS regulations.
